The success rate of students has tremendously surged in the last few years and some proportion of the credit has to be attributed to the coaching centres who have made sure that the market here is still in the game.
Top IAS Coaching in Mumbai
1. Plutus IAS– The highest number of success stories belongs to this institution. It embarked on this stream not long before and the way it has shaped the career of students in civil services is unparalleled. Every year the top ranker belong to this institute and undoubtedly it is the evidence that the quality of teaching is the best. The materials are well and sufficient.The magazine provided by it is the best. Renowned faculties from Delhi mark their presence here to make sure the teaching is exam oriented. At Plutus IAS coaching individual attention is being paid and regular counselling and motivational sessions being conducted by experts. The fee is as per the market standard. The OAS – 2017 qualifiers such as POONAM MOHAPATRA (RANK 3), PRAYASEE PRADHAN (RANK 6), SK SAGIR (RANK 10 & HE IS MY ROOMMATE TOO) and some beyond 20 people belong to this institute. The panel members in the mock interview are ex-OCS people and it is one of its kind and the best in Mumbai. 2.The Hindu Zone IAS–The second one that comes to my mind is hindu zone IAS and as per my information it has a systematic and exam-oriented coaching. It claims to be headquartered in Delhi and that it has highly experienced faculties from Delhi but the authenticity is yet to be confirmed. The result in numbers is decent. It has its own materials. The student feedback is also appreciative. It is spread across two centres in Mumbai i.e., Jaydev Vihar and Patia. It has also centres in Delhi and Agartala. The fee structure for IAS/OAS is nominal as compared to others which is 98,000 for Integrated Course/Package Facility(Prelims-Cum-Mains(GS)+CSAT+Optional Paper) and it varies according to the course taken. The subject contents are being taught from basics in order to improve the foundation of the subjects. Intensive writing skill sessions are also being conducted.
3.DRONACHARYA IAS – It is a good place for IAS preparation. It claims that the faculties are from Delhi and well-experienced. The results they claim show that quite a few qualifiers are from their institute but I don’t know about its authenticity. The fee is high but still it’s good as per their quality of teaching. The materials are Good and I have heard it provides good current affair supplements and sufficient enough for the preparation. The students’ feedback is also good.Headquartered in Mumbai,DRONACHARYA IAS Academy for Civil Services claims to be one of the prominent institutes for IAS coaching. Throughout the years, their consistent systematic methodology for teaching their students has helped the institute to stand at the top. In 2017 IAS Exam the institute has been emerged as the most successful institution in eastern India with 27 Final selection including Rank-3 Mr Sachin Gupta.IAS-2016 Topper Mr Gopal Krishna Ronanki,Rank-3 was also an aspirant of DRONACHARYA .The fee structure is quite high as compared to other ones in this area which is 120000 INR for 12 months. It claims to be the best in Mumbai as it has centres in that area too. It was established in 2005 – 06.
4. AA Shah IAS - The institute is OAS oriented. This institute is the oldest in this stream. Hence the number of success has to be highest. But it has gone outdated and does not follow the latest trends of UPSC. PRAMOD PADHI sir who is now mentoring the students in AA Shah IAS used to teach here. Slowly, the number of successful students in civil services is decreasing and it may not be a good option to join. But its history in producing Successful civil service officers somehow adds to its strength and during the years like 1995,96,97 and others there were toppers in OAS from this institute. The fee structure is very nominal which reduces the quality of services provided which is Rs.85,000/- for IAS (Preliminary-cum-Main) for 12 months and Rs.65,000/- for OAS (Preliminary-cum-Main) for 12 months.
5. Royale IAS Academy – The proprietor himself runs the institute . He used to be an IAS aspirant and is now a civil service officer,so the main doubt is how the institution will run if the owner himself joining state civil services as he was taking most of the classes. The faculty strength is very less and one faculty takes more than one subject which makes it clear that it may be a waste of time joining here. The fee structure is low and its position in this segment has weaken through the years.
